LET’S CLEAR A FEW THINGS UP
Plumbing questions.
Straight answers.
From “Who owns the company?” to “Why does this drain keep doing that?” Here are answers to questions our neighbors ask. No plumbing degree required.
Getting to know Advantage
Is Advantage Plumbing locally owned or owned by private equity?
Advantage Plumbing is locally operated and family-owned by Todd and Nikki Lomerson. We are not owned by a private equity firm. The company has served our community since 2003, and Todd and Nikki took over ownership of Advantage in 2025.
We’re raising our family here, too. Our goal is to be the plumber our neighbors feel comfortable calling for years to come. Get to know Advantage.
Are you licensed and insured, and can I verify your licenses?
Yes. Advantage Plumbing is licensed and insured. Our Florida plumbing license is CFC1433893. Our underground utility and excavation license is CUC1223795.
Those links open the Florida license records so you can check for yourself. If you need proof of insurance for your property or project, ask our office.
Do you serve Jacksonville beyond the Beaches?
Yes. Our home base is Atlantic Beach, but our service area reaches into Jacksonville and nearby Northeast Florida communities, including Orange Park, Fruit Cove, Nocatee, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach.
See our service areas, or call (904) 247-9848 with your address. Our office can confirm coverage and scheduling for your location.
Pricing without the mystery
Can you give me pricing over the phone?
We give pricing over the phone whenever we reasonably can. Tell us what is happening, and we’ll explain what we can price from that information and what needs an onsite evaluation.
Hidden leaks, access problems, and other unknowns can affect the work involved. Ask about labor rates, service-call fees, minimum charges, and materials so you understand how the price works. A useful conversation shouldn’t require a plumber to be standing in your kitchen.
Why do you prefer time-and-material pricing for many repairs?
Time-and-material pricing connects the bill to the labor involved and the materials used. We prefer it for many repairs because a fixed quote often needs a cushion for problems we can’t see yet. If those problems never happen, the homeowner can still pay for that cushion.
With time and materials, a simpler repair can mean less labor and a lower bill. If the job is more involved, it also lets us cover the work needed to do it properly. It isn’t a promise that every job will cost less; it’s a way to keep the price connected to the repair.
Can you give a second opinion on a repipe or another expensive repair?
Yes. We can evaluate the problem and the proposed work so you have another professional opinion before making a major decision. Share the written estimate and any findings with us when you request an appointment.
We recently helped a homeowner avoid an approximately $18,000 repipe after finding that water was entering around a window, rather than coming from her plumbing. Read her story. Every home is different, but the principle is the same: find the cause before recommending the repair.
When the plumbing has other plans
Do you offer emergency plumbing help?
Yes. We offer 24/7 emergency plumbing help. For an urgent leak, sewer backup, or another plumbing emergency, call (904) 247-9848 so we can discuss the situation and confirm availability for your location.
Tell us whether water is actively leaking, whether your water is off, and which fixtures are affected. For urgent help, call rather than waiting on an online request.
Can you help with slow drains and recurring sewer backups?
Yes. We handle drain cleaning and sewer-line problems. If a clog keeps coming back, we want to understand the cause before recommending the next step.
Depending on what we find, that may involve line clearing, a camera inspection, or a repair. Tell us how often it happens and whether more than one drain is affected. Your observations help us investigate.
Do you repair and replace both tank and tankless water heaters?
Yes. Advantage Plumbing handles water-heater repairs and replacements, including tankless systems. We’ll look at the problem and discuss whether repair or replacement makes sense for the equipment and your household’s needs.
You don’t have to arrive with a model number memorized. If you have a photo of the heater and its label, that can help us start the conversation.
Your home, business, or next project
Do you install water softeners and filtration systems?
Yes. We install water softeners and filtration systems. Tell us what you’re noticing about your water and whether you already have treatment equipment.
We’ll discuss your water needs and the options for your property. If you have water-test results or information about an existing system, share them with us.
Do you work with businesses, property managers, and builders?
Yes. Along with residential service, we provide commercial plumbing, multi-family plumbing, and new-construction plumbing.
Our customers include restaurants, schools, churches, property managers, apartment communities, municipalities, and custom home builders. Whether you need a repair or a project estimate, tell us about the property and the scope.
How do I book, and what should I tell you when I call?
Call (904) 247-9848, book online, or use our service request form. For urgent problems, call us directly.
No plumbing vocabulary quiz. Tell us your address, what you’re noticing, when it started, and whether it has happened before. Photos, equipment details, and an existing estimate can be helpful, but you don’t need to diagnose the problem before calling.
