Overview
We’re hiring an experienced, reliable Construction Plumber to install plumbing systems through every phase of a project: rough-in, top-out, water and sewer tie-ins, and trim. You should be comfortable working from plans, coordinating with your foreman and other trades, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Focus on your tradecraft, with no sales pressure. Your work is building the plumbing system correctly and seeing the job through with your crew.
Key Responsibilities
Your work will follow the construction schedule from underground piping to finished fixtures:
- Rough-In: Lay out and install underground drain piping and stub-ups in the locations shown on the plans, coordinating with the crew before the slab is poured.
- Top-Out: Route and install water supply, drain and vent piping through the framed building. Set valves and fixture connections with the finished layout in mind.
- Water & Sewer Tie-Ins: Install the connections between the building’s plumbing and its water and sewer services, working with the foreman on routing and sequencing.
- Trim & Fixture Installation: Install and connect toilets, faucets, sinks, tubs, showers and water heaters. Protect finished surfaces and pay attention to fixture alignment and operation.
- Technical Execution: Measure, cut, assemble and secure piping and fittings using appropriate tools and materials, including PVC, CPVC, PEX and copper as specified for the project.
- Plans & Coordination: Read blueprints and technical drawings, confirm fixture locations and coordinate with your foreman and other trades before work is covered.
- Testing & Quality: Help prepare systems for testing and inspection, check connections and fixture operation, and address issues with the crew.
- Site Management & Safety: Keep tools and materials organized, document progress and follow plumbing codes and job-site safety practices.
Experience
- Construction Plumbing: Practical experience installing plumbing on new-construction projects. Tell us which phases you’ve worked on and the responsibilities you’ve handled.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read plans, take accurate measurements and translate the layout into correctly placed piping and fixture connections.
- System Knowledge: Understanding of water supply, drainage and vent systems, along with fixture and water heater installation.
- Materials & Tools: Confidence working with common plumbing materials and using hand and power tools safely.
- Teamwork: Clear communication, reliability and respect for your crew, the builder and other trades.
- Quality & Integrity: Attention to detail, pride in your work and a commitment to doing the job correctly.
Pay
